"The San Fernando Cathedral is a beautiful and historic church that is just a stone's throw away from the Riverwalk, so it is very easy to get to if you are already downtown. I recommend getting there in the evening so that you can catch it all lit up - it's breathtaking!. There are also these great little fountains in the front of it, so be sure and get those in the shot too!"

10 Historic Churches in San Antonio That Everyone Should Visit (2021)
"The St Joseph’s Catholic Church is surrounded by the walls of the Joske’s department store, which makes it a bit claustrophobic. St Joseph’s stands as one of the magnificent historic church buildings in San Antonio. The stone sanctuary of this church was built by the German speakers of San Antonio, who were once a minority group in the city."

10 Beautiful Historic Churches In San Antonio
"The Basilica of the Little Flower houses an impressive collection of art, including a replica of the Infant Jesus of Prague, hand-carved Stations of the Cross, and a painting of the church’s namesake, St. Thérèse of Lisieux, ‘the Little Flower,’ painted by the saint’s own sister. The impressive building was designed by Charles L. Monnot Jr. in the Beaux-Arts style. Perhaps most importantly to religious visitors, the church houses the relics of Louis and Zelie Martin, the parents of St. Thérèse, making it one of only four basilicas in Texas."

Best Breakfast Downtown San Antonio
"With over 160+ years of tradition, this list wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t mention The Guenther House restaurant in Southtown SATX. Located right next to the River Walk, you can make the trip from downtown heading south and end up at The Guenther House 15-20 minutes later. There’s a lot of history to The Guenther House for those that interested, but most importantly, their breakfast is superb. The Guenther House only serves Breakfast and Lunch, and I would recommend Buttermilk Biscuits & Sausage Gravy or the Southern Sweet Cream Waffle Platter."

5 San Antonio restaurants for great pancakes when you need a comfort food breakfast
"The genteel Victorian manor called The Guenther House next to Pioneer Flour Mills along the River Walk is a museum and a gift shop. But it’s also a restaurant celebrating Pioneer flour and the great things that come from it — like pancakes. The Pioneer Pancake Platter comes with two cake-crumble pancakes, sausage and fruit ($10.95) for a breakfast both satisfying and picturesque, served under the patio’s shaded pergola."

10 Beautiful Historic Churches In San Antonio
"La Villita, one of San Antonio’s most historic neighborhoods, has been transformed into a Historic Arts Village, featuring an eclectic assortment of galleries, shops, and restaurants, as well as one Little Church. Though small, there’s a beautiful simplicity to the Little Church’s subdued take on the Gothic Revival style, especially as lit by the central, stained-glass window. The church was built by German Methodists in 1879, and credit for much of the craftsmanship within it is given to a Norwegian sailor named Olaf."
